Ralph Hartmann is a seasoned accounting, tax, and business consulting professional of more than 48 years. As the founder of Hartmann and Associates in 1978, he has helped successfully guide and advise thousands of businesses and individuals in bookkeeping, accounting, taxation and financial planning of all types.

Armed with the ability to first see problems then formulate creative solutions though the study and understanding of financials, accounting practices and taxation, he is consistently able to achieve his goal of providing financial peace of mind to his clients. Whether it’s brainstorming in a one-on-one session or engaging an entire audience via formal presentation, his passion is for understanding and driving success in business.

Hartmann has a Bachelor of Science in Business, with a minor in Accounting from Woodbury University in Los Angeles, California and has participated in both Rapport Leadership and Youth Leadership training. He is a member of the National Association of Tax Preparers, National Association of Enrolled Agents, and the National Society of Accountants and has been a member, board member, and chairman of the board of the Reno, Sparks Chamber of Commerce.

As one of ten accomplished children, Ralph credits his parents with instilling in him the overwhelming desire to understand what makes a business successful. He shares this passion with his life’s companion Linda and their dynamic family. He can always be counted on to share his considerable accounting and taxation expertise in both professional and educational venues. In his spare time, Ralph enjoys tinkering with anything mechanically and expanding his creative writing abilities through cowboy poetry.

Hi, I’m Yunya Zheng, Senior Tax Associate at Hartmann & Associates. I help individuals and small- to mid-sized businesses navigate complex tax matters and make smart financial decisions. From ensuring accurate transaction reporting to guiding clients through tax planning, my goal is to simplify the complexities of tax law so clients can focus on growing their businesses and achieving their goals.

With a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting and over five years of experience, I’ve worked with clients across industries, including sole proprietorships, passthrough entities, and C corporations. I’m known for staying ahead of tax law changes, reviewing clients’ books for compliance, and helping business owners prepare for retirement or the sale of their business.

I was honored to be inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, an international business honor society, and I hold an Enrolled Agent license. I am currently preparing for the CPA examination to continue expanding my expertise.

What drives me is helping clients overcome challenges, maximize opportunities, and feel confident about their financial decisions.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, reading, and catching movies—often multitasking with a podcast in one ear and a spreadsheet in the other.

Chandra Berry is an accomplished Controller and Accounting Manager with more than 25 years of experience leading financial operations, accounting teams, payroll, budgeting, internal controls, and business process improvement. Throughout her career, she has supported organizations across construction, manufacturing, professional services, and consulting industries, helping businesses strengthen financial performance, improve operational efficiency, and build sustainable growth strategies. 

Currently serving as the Operations Manager at Hartmann and Associates, Inc., Chandra oversees accounting and tax operations, client service delivery, workflow management, and strategic technology initiatives. Her expertise spans financial reporting, ERP and CRM administration, QuickBooks implementation, payroll management, compliance, and organizational process improvement. She is recognized for her integrity, adaptability, leadership, and commitment to delivering exceptional service to both clients and colleagues.

A former business owner and QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Chandra has built a reputation as a trusted financial partner who combines technical accounting expertise with a practical, people-focused approach. She is passionate about helping organizations create efficient systems, strengthen internal controls, and achieve their financial goals. 

Outside of work, Chandra enjoys spending time in the great outdoors, whether camping, exploring new destinations, or simply appreciating nature. Family is at the center of her life, and she treasures opportunities to create lasting memories with loved ones. She is also an avid dog lover and believes there is nothing better than the companionship and unconditional loyalty of a good dog.

Mallory began her career in the construction industry in 2008, developing a broad foundation in construction administration, accounting, payroll, and business operations. Over the course of her career, she advanced from Secretary to Office Manager before moving into specialized accounting and payroll roles as a Lead Payroll Processor and Payroll Accountant. In 2020, she returned to the construction and landscaping industry as an Executive Assistant and Senior Accountant, where she supported financial oversight, streamlined operational processes, and helped maintain accurate, reliable financial records.

Mallory joined Hartmann & Associates in April 2026 as a Senior Bookkeeper, bringing more than 15 years of experience in accounting support, payroll, bookkeeping, and business operations. She offers clients a strong understanding of the financial needs of small businesses, with deep familiarity in construction-related industries. Known for her organized, detail-oriented approach and practical business perspective, Mallory helps clients strengthen financial clarity, maintain accurate records, and support informed tax and accounting decisions. She is committed to delivering responsive, dependable service that gives clients confidence in their financial information and peace of mind throughout the year.

Outside of her professional work, Mallory is a proud mother of six and values time with her family. Since relocating from California to Reno in 2019, she has enjoyed supporting her children’s activities, spending time outdoors with her family and dogs, cooking, and hosting family and friends. She loves bringing people together and creating a warm, welcoming environment around a good meal.

With more than 30 years of bookkeeping experience, I am proud to serve as a Bookkeeper at Hartmann & Associates. My background includes extensive experience in payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, along with successfully managing two software conversions involving the transfer and verification of critical financial and payroll data.

I am known for being dependable, detail-oriented, and always willing to lend a helping hand. I enjoy collaborating with colleagues and contributing to smooth, efficient financial operations for our clients. As a lifelong Nevadan, I bring dedication, consistency, and a strong work ethic to my work every day, and I genuinely enjoy helping others succeed.

Born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, I developed a strong sense of community and service that led me to join the U.S. Coast Guard after high school. My time in the Coast Guard taught me discipline, teamwork, and resilience—qualities that have shaped my path ever since.

After my service, I moved to Nevada and worked for a time at the well-known Harold’s Club, gaining experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. I later transitioned into the heavy equipment industry, where I found my niche in accounts payable and receivable, developing skills in financial operations, organization, and problem-solving.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and exploring the remote backcountry of Nevada. Whether navigating desert trails or mountain tracks in my classic Jeep CJ7, I value the freedom and adventure that the outdoors provides.
